What sense can we make of it?
What goes on in the world today.
Very close to "Might is Right" 1890 book by Ragnar Redbeard, believed to be Arthur Desmond.
Who has the upper hand?
Who is in position to do it?
For my part I leave it all alone.
I'm not in charge.
Yet, all has foundational principles that keeps us on some kind of pleasant path. 
The maker of the universe established the boundaries we live in.
They are set.
Seven days in a week.
Twenty-four hours in a day.
What about the Ten Commandments?
What is the vision of our elected leaders?
What are they seeing?
Hard to relate.
Somehow life goes on.

we see through a glass,
